The 'primordial' version of 'Lumpy Gravy' - the orchestral music on its own without the voices and effects - is an exquisite composition, highlighted by the truly beautiful 'Oh No' theme/5(20).

The last track on the Mothers of Invention's seminal LP We're Only in It for the Money, "The Chrome Plated Megaphone of Destiny" contrasts sharply with the rest of the material on that album. It is not a song, but a programmatic piece of musique concrete. Frank Zappa explains in the liner notes that it is essential for the listener to read.

Feb 09,  · The headline read: "Dear Lo: We're only in it for the money!" and there was a large photo of the album cover and some other stuff. Well, we still did not know what it was all about, but I enjoyed the album. I cannot speak for the entire listings of the Mothers on Amazon, but "We're only in it for the money" is my favorite Zappa CD/5().
